Werner Nesseler (82) at the Triathlon European Championships in Tarragona

82-year-old Werner Nesseler of TSG Kaiserslautern has once again successfully completed a triathlon. This time he took part in the European Championships in Tarragona, Spain, representing the over-80s age group as the only member of the German national team in that category. In 29 degrees in the shade he crossed the line after 1 hour 47 minutes, finishing in 4th place. His new role model is an 87-year-old fellow athlete from Italy: "I'd love to keep going that long too," said Nesseler. Congratulations on this achievement!
