About the department
The fencing section of TSG Kaiserslautern looks back on an impressive tradition dating to 1927. Over the decades it has produced not only internationally successful fencers but has also established itself as a home for enthusiastic recreational fencers, from beginners right through to older age groups.
Few sports combine speed, coordination, reaction and endurance quite like fencing, and it can be taken up at any stage of life. It is precisely this mix of tradition, competitive achievement and grassroots sport that makes our section so special.
Training always takes place in Hall 1 at TSG Kaiserslautern. We coach our young fencers exclusively in foil; from the age of 16, épée is also possible. Beginners can borrow fencing equipment on site for the duration of the training sessions.
